InnoCaption allows you to choose between captioning by live stenographers (Human) or automated speech recognition (AI) software.
You can choose between three caption modes on the InnoCaption app:
AI (English) - defaults to automated speech recognition software in English for captioning unless user requests switch to Human (live stenographer) mode during a call
AI (Secondary Language) - defaults to automated speech recognition software in the designated secondary language for captioning
Human (English) with AI fallback enabled - defaults to live stenographer (Human), but enables ASR captioning when a live stenographer is not available
For most users, we recommend first trying our AI caption mode. If captioning does not seem to be working well for a given call, we recommend requesting a switch to a live stenographer (Human). If your general preference is to have a live stenographer assist you with captioning your calls, we recommend setting your caption mode to Human (English) with AI fallback enabled. This means you will never see a “All live captioners are busy” message, even during unexpected call surges, and all of your calls will go through with captioning. If a live stenographer is unavailable at a given time, the speech recognition software will take over temporarily until a live assistant becomes available. Please set your caption mode to Human (English) with AI fallback enabled for this backup AI feature to be enabled.
To switch between caption modes on an iPhone and Android Next Gen (New 4.0)
Open the InnoCaption app
Tap Keypad
Tap the Caption mode icon at the bottom left corner
Select your preferred caption mode
To enable AI fallback mode on an iPhone and Android Next Gen (New 4.0)
Tap Settings
Tap Call preferences
Tap AI fallback toggle ON (it will turn GREEN)
To switch between caption modes during a call on an iPhone and Android Next Gen (New 4.0)
During a live call, tap the Caption mode icon on the bottom toolbar, to the right of the end call icon
Select your preferred caption mode
Tap the (x) icon to return to the caption screen
