Can I make 911 calls through InnoCaption?
Updated over a week ago

Providing our user community with accessible emergency calling is an important part of the InnoCaption service. When you dial 911 using the InnoCaption app, your call is prioritized over other callers using InnoCaption. All 911 emergency calls are defaulted to a live stenographer (Human) regardless of your caption mode. If you would like to switch to automated speech recognition captioning during the call, you can click the caption button at the bottom of the toolbar and click your preferred caption mode from the screen.

When you dial 911 on the InnoCaption app, your call will be sent directly to your local 911 center based on your mobile device’s coordinates. While connecting the emergency call, InnoCaption will send through your name, callback number, and location based on your mobile device coordinates. Please keep in mind, you may still be asked by the 911 operator for this information.

*911 Calling Advisory: Calling 911 from a landline remains the most reliable method of reaching emergency response personnel.

If you have any inquiries as to how we handle 911 calls, please reach out to our regulatory team at [email protected].
