Keeping your iPhone's operating system software current and up to date will help ensure that you benefit from the latest performance and security enhancements released by Apple. In addition, because our engineering team is constantly testing and optimizing the InnoCaption app to work with the latest iOS versions, you will also benefit from the latest feature enhancements and bug fixes as well.

To update your iPhone's operating system

  1. From your home screen, open the Settings app

  2. Tap General

  3. Tap Software Update

  4. Tap Download and Install or Install Now (if the software has already been downloaded)

  5. Read the Terms and Conditions and tap Agree

  6. Once the software has been downloaded, tap Install Now
    Note: You will need to restart your phone to complete the process

Note: You can enable Automatic Updates to make sure your phone automatically downloads the latest iOS version. However, you will still be asked for permission before an installation occurs.

You will be able to see when your iOS has been updated and is installed. You can check by following these steps:

  1. From your home screen, open the Settings app

  2. Select General

  3. Select Software Update

  4. The screen will display the following message: "iOS is up to date," as pictured here:

If you have been referred to this article due to technical issues you are facing with the InnoCaption app, we highly recommend you also take the following steps after completing the iOS update.

To run diagnostics

  1. Close all open apps, including the InnoCaption app

  2. Restart your device by powering it OFF and ON

  3. Open the InnoCaption app

  4. Tap Settings

  5. Scroll down to the bottom

  6. Tap Run diagnostics

Try placing a test call to see if your issues have been resolved. If not, you may also be facing issues due to an unstable internet connection. To resolve this issue you can try restarting your Wi-Fi router using the steps below:

To refresh your router connection

  1. Unplug your router’s cord from the wall

  2. Plug the cord back in

  3. Wait 1-2 minutes until all the lights are back up

After refreshing your Wi-Fi router, try placing a test call to see if your issues have been resolved. If not, please switch your phone's internet connection from Wi-Fi to cellular data.

To switch your phone’s internet connection from Wi-Fi to cellular on iPhone

  1. From your phone’s home screen, tap the Settings app

  2. Tap Wi-Fi

  3. Tap Wi-Fi toggle OFF (it will turn gray)

  4. Confirm your phone still has a cellular network connection by looking for the signal bars at the top right of the screen
