When you get a new phone and/or a new phone number through your carrier, it is possible to carry over your InnoCaption number, voicemail box, and call transcripts from your old device. Below is step-by-step guidance for the most common data transfer situations users find themselves in.
Please note that when you get a new device or a new phone number through your carrier, your InnoCaption number and your account password will remain the same. You will need to use the same InnoCaption account on your old and new device in order for your call transcripts to be transferred.

If you have a new phone, but your cell phone number remains the same, you can back up and restore your call transcripts yourself without needing to contact our support team. Here are the step-by-step instructions:
On your old phone, open the InnoCaption app
Tap Settings
Tap Advanced features
Tap Backup transcripts to server
If you have previously saved a backup, tap Overwrite to save a new one
Create a password for this backup and tap Export. Note: This is separate from your InnoCaption account password. Be sure to remember the password, because our team is not able to view or reset your password
You will see the confirmation message "Backup exported successfully" at the top of the screen
Download InnoCaption on your new phone. Note: You will need to manually download the app from the Play Store or App Store. If your apps were automatically transferred to your new phone, you will need to delete and reinstall the InnoCaption app before continuing
On your new phone, open the InnoCaption app and log in to your account
Tap Settings
Tap Advanced features
Tap Restore transcripts from server
Tap Restore
Enter the password you created in step 6 and tap Continue
You will see the confirmation message "Backup restored successfully" at the top of the screen
Tap Back to go to the main Settings page
Tap Run diagnostics
