Move your InnoCaption account to a new phone or number

If you have a new phone, cell phone number, or phone carrier, follow these steps to transfer your InnoCaption data

When you get a new phone and/or a new phone number through your carrier, it is possible to carry over your InnoCaption number, voicemail box, and call transcripts from your old device. Below is step-by-step guidance for the most common data transfer situations users find themselves in.

Please note that when you get a new device or a new phone number through your carrier, your InnoCaption number and your account password will remain the same. You will need to use the same InnoCaption account on your old and new device in order for your call transcripts to be transferred.

If you have a new phone, but your cell phone number remains the same, you can back up and restore your call transcripts yourself without needing to contact our support team. Here are the step-by-step instructions:

  1. On your old phone, open the InnoCaption app

  2. Tap Settings

  3. Tap Advanced features

  4. Tap Backup transcripts to server

  5. If you have previously saved a backup, tap Overwrite to save a new one

  6. Create a password for this backup and tap Export. Note: This is separate from your InnoCaption account password. Be sure to remember the password, because our team is not able to view or reset your password

  7. You will see the confirmation message "Backup exported successfully" at the top of the screen

  8. Download InnoCaption on your new phone. Note: You will need to manually download the app from the Play Store or App Store. If your apps were automatically transferred to your new phone, you will need to delete and reinstall the InnoCaption app before continuing

  9. On your new phone, open the InnoCaption app and log in to your account

  10. Tap Settings

  11. Tap Advanced features

  12. Tap Restore transcripts from server

  13. Tap Restore

  14. Enter the password you created in step 6 and tap Continue

  15. You will see the confirmation message "Backup restored successfully" at the top of the screen

  16. Tap Back to go to the main Settings page

  17. Tap Run diagnostics

If you have a new phone and a new cell phone number, you will need to contact our support team so we can update your account with the new cell phone number. Please email us ([email protected]) with your old cell phone number and new cell phone number. Please wait for our confirmation email with further instructions to proceed.

If you changed your cell phone number, but still have the same phone, you will need to contact our support team so we can update your account with the new cell phone number. Please email us ([email protected]) with your old cell phone number and new cell phone number. Please wait for our confirmation email with further instructions to proceed.

If you changed your phone carrier, but still have the same phone and cell phone number, you can back up and restore your call transcripts yourself without needing to contact support. Here are step-by-step instructions:

  1. Enable auto backup

  2. Delete and reinstall the InnoCaption app

  3. Restore call transcripts

  4. Run diagnostics
