The Do Not Disturb (DND) feature on your phone allows you to block all incoming calls and notifications during specific times. However, if you want to ensure that you still receive calls from your most important contacts, you can allow calls from your Favorites while DND is active. Follow the steps below for iOS and Android to set this up.
To allow calls from Favorites in DND mode on iPhone
From your phone's home screen, open the Settings app
Scroll down and tap Focus
Tap Do Not Disturb
Tap People
Select Allow Notifications From
Under Allow Calls From, select Favorites
Note: This ensures that calls from contacts marked as favorites will still come through, even if DND is active
Go back to your phone's home screen and open the Phone app
Tap Contacts
Select the contact you want to add, then tap Add to Favorites
To allow calls from Favorites in DND mode on Android
From your phone's home screen, open the Settings app
Tap Sound
Tap Do Not Disturb
Tap People
Tap Calls
Select Starred to ensure calls from your favorite contacts will bypass DND
Go back to the Settings app main page
Tap Apps
Tap Special app access
Tap Do Not Disturb access
Tap InnoCaption
Tap the toggle next to Allow Do Not Disturb to turn it ON
Tap Allow to confirm
Go back to your phone's home screen and open the Contacts app
Tap the contact you want to add, and then tap the Star icon to mark them as a favorite
Note: Because Android settings vary depending on the manufacturer and device model, the steps may be slightly different on your device.
